Recently I have been listening to a lot of older hip hop from the “golden era.” I thought to myself, what better place to start than with some good ol’ Wu- Tang Clan. A super group of sorts with members like the RZA, the GZA, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Raekwon, Method Man and Ghostface Killah, east coast rap really began here. Nearly every rap artist from then on out listened to the Clan and used what they learned to help rap grow in every direction.
So knowing all of this, I went to Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) to listen to where it all really began. It can be a little bit vulgar at times, but other than that, the beats and production of the RZA really just are what anyone wants to jam when they need to get hyped up. With just a viscous flow and grind to each individual member, it was a great way to start my listening of early 90’s rap.
