Neutral Milk Hotel

According to a blog that I like to read called /mu/, Neutral Milk Hotel’s album In the Aeroplane Over the Sea is considered the most best, edgy and indie album ever. Now I had never listened to the album before so I had to give it a try for myself and discovered it is actually quite a good album. Most of the songs are helped along with acoustic chords and the lead singer Jeff Magnum’s raspy voice cries out in agony and touches the soul as he sings his heart out. That combined with the acoustic guitar has been done before, but there is an added element to the whole album with an incredible horn section that sounds an awful lot like a marching band and gives the album a unique feel.

I will admit this is unlike anything I have ever listened to. I’m not sure if it is the most amazing album ever, but it definitely is the most unique and very indie and lo-fi. Maybe it’s the best indie album ever. And with time, it could one day become the best album ever.
