Summer Babe (Winter Version)

Summer Babe (Winter Version) by Pavement is my choice for the most influential track from the 90’s. The rocking guitar part through out the whole song represents the 90’s well with the just plain noise. The point of 90’s indieness was to try out new stuff, and this song really combines the rock’ n’ roll of the 60’s and 70’s, and the experimentation of the 90’s. The rock’ n’ roll is there with the drum beat, and the 90’s is there with the just plain loud guitar otherwise known as lo- fi or low fidelity which basically means lower quality of music. The grating sound of the reverb of the guitar really brings the sound an edge to it that makes it stand alone in the crowed scene of the 90’s. Go Pavement
